How to install Kali Linux on Windows 10, 8, 7 (Easiest way)



How to install Kali Linux on Windows ?

Today I'm showing the installation process of Kali Linux on window machine using virtual box. Virtual box is a open source software that allows to emulate an operating system on your own PC. VirtualBox is shared the resources to the guest OS(such as kali, windows, ubuntu etc) like it is running on it's own hardware. You can easily install or remove the guest OS without any issues. Unlike Dual boot. You can easily switch the operating system from guest OS to host OS or vice-versa like an application which are running in you machine.

What is Kali Linux ?

Kali Linux is a Debian-based Linux distribution aimed at advanced Penetration Testing and Security Auditing. Kali contains several hundred tools which are geared towards various information security tasks, such as Penetration Testing, Security research, Computer Forensics and Reverse Engineering. Kali Linux is developed, funded and maintained by Offensive Security, a leading information security training company.

Steps to Install Kali Linux
1. To install Kali Linux on windows you need VirtualBox. I already posted a another article that shows you how to install Virtual box on windows. click here to redirect on that article and follow the steps carefully. After Successfully install the VirtualBox than come back to this post and continue the remaining steps.

2. To download Kali linux. click on this link. It will redirected to official site and click on Kali Linux VirtualBox images. Click on the Image Name based on your CPU version (32bit or 64bit) than its starts downloading.


3. After successfully downloaded a file then double click on it. It will automatically opens VirtualBox window and ask to import virtual appliance click on  Import and wait until it finish.


4. It will automates the installation process to default configuration. If you want to do any modification click on settings and change from there. After successfully imported a kali linux then press Start.

5. Then it will opens a new window and starts the installation process. It will take some amount of time to install. After completion of installation process it ask to login. The default username and password are root and toor. You can also change the default password or Username.  There you go, You successfully installed the Kali Linux on windows machine.
